Employment regulations

Every business needs to be aware of the legal obligations that come with taking on staff. This section offers an outline guide to the more important regulations.

Is your business age positive?

As every business owner knows, any form of discrimination in the workplace on the grounds of race or gender is unacceptable, whether it is among staff or in company policy.

Rights for working parents

Being a parent is not easy, but neither is being an employer of parents. Although the requirement to pay tax credits through the payroll to employees has now ceased, there are several forthcoming changes to employment law which are designed to help working parents, and for which employers need to start planning now.

Consulting your staff

The EC Directive on Informing and Consulting Employees gives many employees the right to be consulted on key issues affecting the business or work organisation.
